The Telangana turmoil seems to be taking a new turn. Now the focus fell on the films running in theaters and the films to be released in theaters. Today two important people of Tollywood showed the signs of supporting United Andhra Pradesh. They are Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Harikrishna.

After Chiranjeevi and his party men decided to be in favour of ‘Samaikhya Andhra’, students from Kakatiya University and Allu Arjun’s Fans Association along with TRS activists disrupted ‘Arya 2’ in various parts of Telangana region. It is also learnt that Ram Charan’s ‘Magadheera’ was also stopped in some theaters. They have even declared openly that they would boycott all films of Chiranjeevi’s family members in Telangana, which means along with Allu Arjun & Ram Charan Teja, Pawan Kalyan too is in trouble now.

On other hand, Nandamuri Harikrishna while speaking to the media personnel at New Delhi commented against formation of Telangana as separate state. Reacting to this statement the Joint Action Committee of Telangana Students announced that they would be boycotting NTR’s ‘Adhurs’ (releasing on December 25th) in Telangana region. Now it is remained to be seen where this Telangana issue would be heading to.

Jagapati Babu starred Gayam directed by Ram Gopal Varma and released in 1993 was a big hit and it gave a big break to the hero’s career. Now, a sequel to this film is coming up as Gayam-2. The film is being produced by Karta Creations while Ram gopal Varma’s protégé Praveen Sri is making his debut as director through this flick. Puja was performed to the script at the Daiva Sannidhanam in Film Nagar on December 2. Senior producer VB Rajendra Prasad handed over the script to the director.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagapati Babu says, “My earlier film Gayam earned me an action hero image. I am very happy for doing its sequel. However, it is not just a sequel casually, but we are making it as a perfect sequel. To my knowledge, for the first time in India, such a perfect sequel is coming up on the screen.”

Director Praveen Sri says, “I am very happy to get an opportunity to do a sequel to my mentor’s film. We are presently in search of artistes and technicians. We will launch the regular shooting by the end of this month. We will shoot the film in Hyderabad and Vizag, besides, a part of the film would be shot abroad. Our producers are of the opinion to release the film in the first week of April.” Sarat Marar, Dhamakartha, Bharat C and others participated in the programme

Orange will go to the sets from 7th December onwards. Starring Genelia and an actress from Mumbai, most of the shooting is expected to take place in Australia. A part of it was initially supposed to be shot in New York. The shooting will take place till the 12th in Hyderabad and then it will move to Mumbai for a ten-day schedule.

Later on there is a continuous shoot for three months in Australia after which it will move to Hyderabad. The heroine is making her debut in Telugu though her Hindi film is about to release

Adjoining hands UTV productions, Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal films will produce the remake of Hindi blockbuster ‘A Wednesday’ in Telugu and Tamil.

Enacted by Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah in Hindi, Kamal Haasan and Mohan Lal will be reiterating the roles in Tamil. The thriller drama will be made in Telugu titled ‘Eenadu’ as stated by Kamal in a recent meet. Further details will be announced by producer Rama Naidu who will be teaming up with RajKamal films for this production venture.

Earlier, Venkatesh was invited by Kamal for a prominent role in his shelved film ‘Marmayogi’. But, true to his words, he will cast Venky in a prominent role. Some say he will replace Anupam Kher’s role for Telugu version instead of Mohan Lal but it’s yet to be confirmed.

Chakri will direct the film. Art director Thota Tharani is supervising the construction of a set at Hyderabad for the shoot to begin.
